I took a silver Sharpie paint marker and just traced around the laser cut outs and around the edges of the words. It makes the cut outs pop without covering them up. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts red poinsettias with green bling in the center to match the white Petaloo poinsettia. It is a simple project but I think it still looks festive and I will enjoy finding a place for it once the holiday season starts.

Quick Christmas Decoration
This project came about from a trip to Michaels with a friend, we saw this little wood letters in their new Christmas section so I grabbed one. Of course when I got it home it sat on my desk for almost two weeks while I tried to figure out what to do with it. I didn't want to cover it with paper and take away from the laser cut in the letters. I ended up painting it green and then it sat some more while I forgot about it.

Gift for Mom
Quite a long time ago my Mom had given me some black and white copies of pictures that she found after my Grandma died. I made her a little album with some of them but I wanted to do something special with a family picture that I had found in the pile.
I took a blank canvas from Michaels and did a base coat of black paint but that felt too dark so I did a very thin coat of brown over top to soften it up. The papers are from the Timepiece collection by Bo Bunny ( I still have some hoarded away) and I layered them with cardstock to give more dimension.
The ribbon is from May Arts and I pulled it from my stash, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts - their vintage colour open roses. I love the quality of their products.
The F is a small wood letter that I picked up a long time ago from Michaels for a totally different project but it worked really well on the canvas.
My Mom loved her gift and she has it displayed in her living room for everyone to see.
